SUMMARY:Wednesday Women Leads Group 2021
DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker: Liza Reidel\, Executive Director\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTopic: Liza will talk about how and why she got started in the Non profit world and how she is continuing to serve many families in the Central Florida Area. \n\n\nAbout Liza Reidel:\n\nIn April 2007\, Riedel received a call that changed the course of her life. Her daughter Amanda\, who was 18 at the time\, had been in a serious car accident\, leaving her paralyzed. Doctors told Reidel that her daughter would never walk again. Riedel tried to make sense of Amanda's recovery but was told her hopes were unrealistic. In 2009\, she founded NextStep Orlando\, a nonprofit recovery center dedicated to helping those with spinal cord injuries improve their daily living by regaining function and possibly even walking again. Through activity-based therapy\, NextStep strengthens and reorganizes the central nervous system in affected individuals. As a result\, in the nine years since her accident\, Amanda now stands on her own and is on the verge of taking her first steps unassisted. Reidel hopes her organization can turn every parent's worst nightmare into a place of hope while serving hundreds of individuals with paralysis.\n\n\n\nLunch provided by: \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note which option you want in the comments section of your registration:\n\n\n\nOption #1: Vecino Grilled Chicken Salad (no carbs)\n\nGrilled Chicken\, romaine lettuce\, tomatoes\, spinach\, cucumbers\, olives\, carrot shreds\, side of tangy pepperoncini (CAN BE REQUESTED WITHOUT CHICKEN)\n\nDressing options: Ranch/ Italian- Lite/ Greek/ Caesar/ French\n\n\n\nOption #2: V&V- Vegetarian and Vegan Curry & Rice\n\nSeasonl vegetables\, cauliflower\, zucchini\, white beans\, eggplant\, potatoes cooked in a zesty tomato gravy with mild Indian spices.
